Secrets to Marketing Your MLM Network Marketing Business - Part 2

In Part 1, I defined what is Direct Response Marketing. And basically it is 3 parts. Identifying your market and knowing your markets problems, offering a solution to that problem, getting that solution in front of as many of your target market as possible.

Direct Response Marketing marries MLM perfectly. We are offering a product or service, and unless your product is crap, offers a solution.

So if we produce an advertising campaign for our MLM that combines those 3 parts harmoniously, we'll have it made.

So this 2nd part of the series we are going to tackle identifying our target market and show why that is so important in our Network Marketing business.

What are we taught in MLM? Write up a list of 100 friends and family and start pitching them our product and opportunity.

We are taught that everybody is our prospect. Who, what, where did they ever come up with something as ludicrous as that?

On a sidenote, that is why I feel that the old way of marketing our MLM's using people we know and meetings are a horrible waste of time and
extremely inefficient. But I digress.

Sure everybody needs better health, less stress, more energy, lose weight, make more money, or whatever it is you pitch. But do people buy what they need? More often than not, that is a big fat NO.

Besides food, shelter, clothing, which we all spend money on, what does the rest of our money go to? Shopping, movies, entertainment, nice cars, jewelry, and the list goes on and on.

I have a sister with diabetes and I constantly tell her she needs to eat better and exercise, does she listen to me? Nope.

People are irrational at times and buy with emotions. That is why we need to make sure we can identify our target market, because our target market is looking for what we have. There is no convincing involved.

Back to the 100 hundred friends and family who you pitched your greatest vitamin in the world to, how did that work out for you? They were not your target market.

So what is a target market? A target market is a group of people actively looking for what we have to offer. They have a problem, they need a solution Were our friends or family looking for what we had to offer? A large percentage of the time, it is a no.

So since they were not our target market, we wasted our time. Horribly inefficient.

But if we concentrated our efforts on those people who were looking for what we had to offer, how many of you think you would hit the ball out of the ballpark if that was the type of prospect you worked with? Would your Network Marketing business grow?

Think about this, let's take arthritis for an example. If you had a product that cured arthritis, who would your target market be? Not your friends and family.

what if you had a weight loss product, who is your target market? People looking to lose weight.

What if you had an energy drink? People who suffer from lack of energy during the day.

And the list could go on and on. For every product you are pitching with your MLM Network Marketing company, there is a group of people looking for it.

If you spent all your time pitching your product to people who don't need or want what you have to offer, that is a recipe for disaster. It wouldn't be long till you tell yourself this doesn't work and quit.

I hope you are getting the point. There is a world of people that want what you have. They have problems that your product can solve and they want it. Your only job is to get that product in front of them.

So let me summarize. A target market is people actively looking for a solution to a problem. And whatever it is you sell, as long as it is a quality product, you have a target market.

Now the next part, since we know our market and their problems, we need to craft a message that speaks to that issue. And for that, we will learn in our 3rd part.
