Voicemail or a Telephone Handling Service? What Are The Benefits?

A Call handling provider is a good way of organizing telephone call communication for small and medium sized businesses. In the present days highly competitive business world, companies have to take full advantage of all sources of business that comes along, but many may be missing opportunities or possible sales without even knowing it. Around eighty percent people hang up if they hear a voicemail greeting. In other words, if a business is not able to answer their phonecalls and leaves it to the mercy of an answering machine, out of every 10 possible clients, eight could well be sourcing their business elsewhere with a competitor.

By offering the assistance of live operators that are familiar with the companies practices, products and large clients, telephone handling providers (sometimes referred to as "virtual offices") can give excellent advances in caller satisfaction.

By using a good telephone handling provider, companies may be able to stay that one step ahead of their competitors. Clients want to be heard there and then, not at a time handy to the business when they choose to run through their voicemail messages. Good virtual receptionists (as many operators refer to themselves) will give the idea to callers that they are part of the business and a lot of the time can do much of what an in-house receptionist does be it making appointments, giving out directions, making orders or even just transferring the client through to the correct department. The main thing is that the caller feels that it's possible to chat to the business whenever they call, most of the time they don't ever cotton on that they've been chatting to an outsourced receptionist.

A good call handling service shouldn't be seen as a glorified voicemail and should certainly not be matched against for price. Answering machines can only present the choice for callers to leave or not to leave a message, there isn't any person to person interaction and the vast majority will go elsewhere. If an organization is content to spend a small amount on voicemail then they can expect a small amount of business from it.

Small companies or sole traders that are weighing up if an answering machine is what they need to capture potential clients details have to be asking this question- If you were searching promptly for a trade or service and had your call answered by voicemail, would you provide your name and number or would you call the next entry in the phone directory?
